Who are the WWF?
Found in 1961 the WWF or World Wide Fund for Nature is a non-government organisation founded. The WWF has been helping conserve, research and restore the environment for over 50 years. It is the world’s leading conservation organization which works in 100 countries with around 5 million members globally. It is the leading organisation in protection of endangered animals and their habitats and also in concerned in the areas of climate change and pollution. What is their mission? According to the WWF’s website there mission is to “conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth.” They plan to by 2020 conserve many of the world’s most ecologically important regions and stop degradation of the planet’s environment. To do this they must make sure earth biodiversity stays healthy and reduce the impacts of our ecological footprint. Carter Roberts Carter Roberts is the CEO and president of the WWF in America. Before joining the WWF in 2004 Carter Roberts held marketing position in companies like Gillette before leading science and conservation programs. Carter leads the efforts of WWF to save the ecosystems of the world by working with the world businesses to reduce their impact on the world climate. Roberts has formed partnerships with some of the biggest corporations in the world including Coca-Cola, Walmart and Mars to set new standards of efficiency for resource usage. Where do they work? The WWF concentrates there conservation on certain places like places with amazing ecosystems and habitats as well as some places have more biodiversity than others. So by adopting the animal you pay a certain amount of money a month just like you have adopted it.
